Mix proportions meaning related to Cement

 

Δ  Whenever mix proportion of concrete specified

It has 3 different values like as 1:2:4

Here, 1st part indicate cement

2nd part indicate coarse sand

3rd part indicate aggregates

For example :

Concrete mix 1:2:4

                                  1-part cement

                                  2-part sand

                                  4-part aggregates

 

Concrete mix proportions for various grades

 

Grade Proportion
M 25 1 : 1 : 2
M 20 1 : 1.5 : 3
M 15 1 : 2 : 4
M 10 1 : 3 : 6
M 7.5 1 : 4 : 8
M 5 1 : 5 : 10

 

‘M’ indicates concrete strength in N/mm2

Example:

M 20 concrete cube strength after 28-day curing = 20 N/mm2

1-part cement
